My favorite draft of a goat for a recent client’s farm logo- I ended up making it much simpler in texture in the final, but I really enjoyed the play at work this version!
Native spitz breeds of Japan. Akita Inu and Shiba inu are well known, but these are the 4 medium breeds, named for their region of origin. The Kishu in white, and the black brindle Kai, the sesame Shikoku and a red Hokkaido Ken.
Last week I saw a fox in a brown field. This week the field is greening up, but no fox.
I was thinking about the compact design of netsuke and certain other subtractive sculpture. These might become tiles or if I’m brave enough to form them in the round- we’ll see! Here’s Juno and her grouse, and Matsu vs sock.
